because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Opportunity!

One of LOVE’s big burdens in Vietnam is housing and assistance for poor and needy students who come to Danang to pursue a higher education. Until this March LOVE was assisting students in 12 houses. Last month many of these students were told by a large “organization” that many belonged to, that they must choose between being a part of their organization and receiving aid directly from LOVE.

In our talks with the leader of this organization, he was willing for us to help these students if LOVE pays the money to his staff members for them to give to the students. This we cannot do as we are committed to give money directly to students. Another requirement was that LOVE staff and sponsors could not visit any house unless one of their staff accompanies us.

We were willing to work alongside them as we have for several years to help the students, but we cannot work under them. Their requirements makes LOVE dependent on them. At this writing, 6 of the houses have stopped receiving aid and 2 are struggling with this decision.

Please pray for these students to submit to God and to their parents, not to any organization or man without God’s or parents' approval. After all it is the parents who must bear the greater financial burden.

This may be a great opportunity for LOVE because I have had on my heart the idea of working with one of the universities directly to provide student houses for the poorest of their students. Please pray for this with me.

Summer Camp

Please pray for the camp on May 29. Pray that good seeds of love will be sowed and will find fertile ground. Pray that we will be vessels of God’s love.

Above is how the t-shirts will look. We need donations for book bags @ $2 each, water, snacks, 2 meals, door prizes, and buses.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $25 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $25 a month or the whole family for $40 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

New Applications

Summer is also the time to review all our applications and to visit scores of new applications. LOVE will carefully screen all of these and put the profiles of the web.

We also expect to help one or two new student houses. We will work together with both churches and the university.

About me: My mother suffers pains in the spinal columns for a long time. My father, therefore, is the only earner in home. In addition, my siblings and I all are in school. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
