Needs * Needs * Needs

Short-term missionaries (2 months to 1 year) to train our bookkeeper in Quick Books (we use 2003 at present but want to upgrade), someone to teach PowerPoint and produce a L.O.V.E. presentation and/or video and produce a brochure.
Mid-term (1 to 2 years) to teach English in student houses and Children homes.
Full-term (5 years or longer) to replace me as manager of L.O.V.E.’s work in Vietnam.
A CPA to audit our account and complete Florida Corp. Renewal and Solicitation of Funds Form and 990 EZ.

Pray for the Children’s Camp on June 11

Pray for all the children’s safety and health, for the staff and volunteer workers. Pray for lasting relationships to be built among all.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $25 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Pray for my health

May has been a trying month for me as I have been ill for most of 4 weeks. First a cold, then flu followed by a serious sinus infection, high blood pressure and pneumonia. It is when you go through times like this that you learn what it is like to be helped in the Master's Hand. You also learn a lot about yourself and those who love you. Wow! I just had cataract surgery on my right eye. In and out in one day. One more eye to go.

I need your help!

Tina is putting together a list of items for me here in Vietnam. If any of you are coming to Danang in the next 6 months or know someone who is and is willing to bring about 10 to 15 lb. of things to me, please email me and let me know. Thank you!

Please pray about LOVE’s finances

Inflation continues to plague us. We are doing good in the care for all children, but the salaries for our staff are falling way behind other NGO’s and even Vietnamese companies. We also need a generator as with summer we may miss 1 or 2 days of work each week ($1,000) due to no electricity. Also, a new computer ($500).

Please ask God to meet these needs.

June – A great month

We kick off the month with a visit from four sponsors from Germany, then collecting reports, scholarships, t-shirts for summer camp, material and money to make school uniforms. Next is book bags and school books for all the children - over 300 of them.

In addition, nearly 200 of them will attend Summer Camp for a day at the beach from 7:30 am to 4 pm, on June 11. Buses will leave to pick up children 2 hours earlier. Breakfast will be waiting when they arrive, they will be assigned to a group and a leader. Games and fun all day, also talent shows and lots of prizes, lunch and swimming.

Featured Employee for June

Starting this month, I want to introduce our staff members to you with more details so you all can get to know more about them as well as pray for them. This month, I want to tell you about Phuong as he just took a big and important step in his life - getting married in April. Being born and raised in a Christian family whose parents are pastors, Phuong has become a good worker with a serving heart. He left a higher-paying job at a 5-star hotel to come work with LOVE so he can serve and help the poor, even though the pay is not even close to what he got before. For his heart, I believe that God, who provided for him when he was single, shall provide for him now and his new family with greater needs as his wife is still taking classes. Please pray for him and his new family for God’s blessing and guidance.

About me: My father deserted us long time ago. My mother is a farmer and she has to wake up very early in the morning to sell vegetables and goes back home in the late evening. Three of us, normally, after finishing school help my mother to pull the weeds and plant vegetables. But we can do nothing in the raining season as most of our crop is damaged by the heavy rains.
