In 2012 as I look at how I am reminded in Love Of Vietnam Expressed we express God’s love by helping the poor and needy. God guides us in 1 John 3:16-18 Hereby we perceive the love of God: because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world’s goods and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up the compassion of his heart from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Yet I often relate to David when he said in Ps 40:17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh of me. Thou art my help and my deliverer; do not tarry, O my God!
Then in Matthew 5: 3 ¶ “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Mine is the Kingdom of Heaven. What better thought is that. I hope that yours is the kingdom of Heaven.
Ps 86:1 «A prayer of David.» Bow down Thine ear, O LORD; hear me, for I am poor and needy.
And I would pray, “Bow down Thine ear, O LORD; hear me, for I am poor and needy. Guide us in 2012 and always as we strive to serve you. Bless those who labor with us in prayer, in sharing, and is giving. As spoken is Ps 72:13, spare the poor and needy, and save the souls of the needy. And, Ps 74:21, let not the oppressed return ashamed; let the poor and needy praise Thy name.
